Drove by the new construction area this morning. They are really working on this. I noticed that the front grass area has been torn up and that they have loads of equipment and work being done in the old parking lot.

At this rate they may be working on the building itself soon. Town needs a top notch Police Building and the town hall needs a good remodeling. Happy to see this being done.

Well, nobody stole my signs and the campaign literature remained within the bounds of decency. Moreover, I have not heard of any altercations or underhandedness. Unfortunately, enthusiasts from both sides put up signs on public property - definitely a no no. But it seems to me that we can be proud of this year's campaign, no matter who wins.

I hope that Hamden's voters will demonstrate the same maturity as the candidates and the campaign workers and that we shall have an...

Well Chrysler I hate to give you the news but here goes......
The bill they are planning on passing all 1900 pages will include 500 Billion Dollars of Medicare cuts. They plan on DECIMATING Medicare Advantage.

Regardless of what is said this is what they plan and if Pelosi and Reid etc have their way this is what will happen.

Seniors will be getting the worst of the plan, hell why not, they don't have long to live, let's save the young people.

Education is very important, but what is more important then education is the will to better one's self with the education that one has and without this will education is meaningless at some point.

One of Hamden's best Democrats and best citizens, Tony Mentone, passed away this morning. He had not been feeling well; he and Rose left the Town Committee meeting early last night. Later in the night, he went to the Hospital of St. Raphael, where he died this morning, peacefully.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been made.

My neighbor's son, a young professional with two children, has been looking for a house for several months. He just told me that similar young families are snapping up homes as they become available. He's getting quite impatient and is eager to find something... Sounds as if Hamden still looks like a desirable place to settle and bring up children.

Town hall fenced

I drove down the Whitney avenue and saw the town hall was fenced. One of the south bound lines was blocked as a result and the traffic was backed up a half mile long even at 11 am. What is going on? I thought that the ground-breaking was just a show. Maybe the Editor can explain it for me.
